Altar Society

All ladies in the parish are members of the Altar Society.  Altar Circles offer a time of fellowship and idea-sharing in smaller groups. We wish to extend an invitation to you to participate in these circles.  Last year, Altar Society dollars went to defray the cost of Christmas and Easter decorations, candles, altar cloths, weekly flowers for the altar, votive candles and mass intentions for our members.  Our bake sale profits went toward repair and cleaning of the small stained glass church windows plus we donated $2,500 to the Elizabeth House maternity program.

In 1998, sixteen girls and their babies resided at Elizabeth House.  Elizabeth House provides the young mothers a safe, structured, supportive environment.  The young women are offered parenting and independent living skills plus the opportunity to learn good decision making skills for themselves and their children, as they plan for the future.

The Altar Society provides funds for the church and altar.  It unites women parishioners in religious and social activities and assists at wedding and funeral receptions.
