Adult Confirmation program is: 

·         An outreach program to those active Catholic adults who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation, and to help them explore the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit in the context of their current parish life.

·         The formation process will be a blend of small group activities and formal presentations / discussions groups.

·         The Process will starts late in the Fall. 

Background:

There are many adults who are active parishioners and for whatever reason did not receive the sacrament of Confirmation in their formation.  Over the years their journey of faith has led them to our Lady of the Lake Catholic community where they have become active participants. This program directs attention to these parishioners.  It is clear from their commitment and presence at the Eucharist on Sunday that they are serious about their faith.  This program's plan is a direct response to their situation.  It’s purpose is to focus sufficient formation in a short period of time where these parishioners may complete the sacraments of initiation.

What is required to serve in this Ministry?

·         All lay ministers are specifically interviewed and trained adult parishioners to participate in this ministry.  

·         This effort is coordinated and directed by trained parishioners with oversight by the Parish Pastoral Associate. 

·         Yearly formation and periodic gatherings with other Confirmation catechists is a standard, which we embrace.

·         Possess the ability to listen and be prayerful.  Attend required trainings sessions.
