Path to Discipleship

Small Groups/Cohorts, Studies, and Retreats

Here at OLL, we invite individuals to follow Jesus through a clear path of discovery and fellowship. We believe a growing, vibrant community based in Small Groups, studies on the Bible and Catholic Wisdom, and Retreats is the best avenue for deepening our relationship with God.

A few thoughts to ponder:

  • Does God exist and if so, how does God communicate with you?
  • Is God relevant in your day-to-day life?
  • Is God relevant in your family life?

Psalms: The School of Prayer

The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us to pray. In the Psalms: The School of Prayer, discover how these sacred hymns become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds for us.

Epic: A Journey Through Church History

“Epic: A Journey Through Church History” is a fascinating journey through our family history.  The history of the Catholic Church.  You will embark upon an overview throughout time demonstrating how God’s hand has guided the church through good times and through very tumultuous times.  Past participants have expressed how grateful they were to understand God’s hand and guidance while using frail humanity to share “The Good News.”

The Gospel of Mark

Know Jesus Through His Word:  Join Julia as she walks you through the Gospel of Mark. This shortest of all New Testament gospels is likely the first to have been written, yet it often tells of Jesus’ ministry in more detail than either Matthew or Luke. The action begins with the appearance of John the Baptist, a messenger of God attested by scripture. But John points to a mightier one, Jesus, at whose baptism God speaks from heaven, declaring Jesus his Son. Come and discover Jesus in the Gospel of Mark.

Path to Discipleship - Becoming Catholic, Awakening Faith, and Prayer

The family of Our Lady of the Lake desires to minister to the spiritual needs of our entire community. We invite our friends and family who are unfamiliar with the Catholic faith to ask questions and explore our beliefs and practices in an environment that is open for discussion. Catholics who have been away from the church and desire to come home and actively participate often have their own set of questions and concerns.  We invite you to participate in “Awakening Faith” to join a group ready to walk the journey with you. All are welcome to pray and participate with us at Mass and other parish events.
