About Child & Family Faith Formation

At Our Lady of the Lake, we love our children!  The goal of Child & Family Faith Formation is to offer activities and programs that grow the faith of our children (infant-5th grade). Our programs help encourage children to make Jesus the center of their lives. These programs include Life Kids, Children's Liturgy of the Word, Nursery, and Vacation Bible School. We also provide family-based programming and events throughout the year.

LIFE KIDS
Children's Faith Formation

Life Kids, our in-person children's faith formation program, is Now Enrolling children in Pre-Kindergarten (4 yrs) through Fifth Grade. Parent volunteering is a requirement of the program, and additional family events will be offered throughout the year.

Please read this document fully before registering for this program:

Registration closes on Monday, September 18th. The Program fee is $100 per child.

Nursery - Now Open!

The Nursery is welcoming children on Sundays from 8:45am to 12:15pm, where we will offer adults attending Mass the opportunity to focus more on the liturgy while welcoming the little ones to spiritual nourishment in the nursery. There, loving guides will lead the toddlers in Christian songs, storybook reading, crafts, and prayer.

Parents of children attending this program are encouraged to volunteer for a shift.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an ongoing program occurring during 9 am Masses. Before the First Reading, teachers gather and escort the children downstairs. During this 20 minute program they hear Scripture explained in ways that they can grasp. Their learning continues through song and craft activities. After the Prayers of the Faithful, the teachers guide them back to the Mass to rejoin their families.

This program has proven popular, and we would like to extend it to the 11 am Mass, but we need more volunteer instructors. Please pray that this need be filled.

Additional Resources for Faith in the Home

We believe that faith begins in the home. Families are encouraged to eat, pray, and share their faith together. For parents interested in creating or improving their family-based faith practices, below are two additional resources aimed at nurturing faith in your family and establishing the tradition of reading the Bible with your children.
