Confirmation

Welcome to Confirmation at Our Lady of the Lake. For the 2026-2027 year, we are excited to use a new program: a collaboration between YDisciple and Alpha Youth. Which is a small-group style confirmation program where students gather weekly for food, fellowship, a video-based lesson, and honest discussion about faith, life, and purpose. Each session creates space for students to ask questions, build community, and grow deeper in their relationship with God.

This Confirmation program is available for 7th through 12th graders who have been baptized and had their first communion. If you are seeking Confirmation as an adult, please contact Luke Brooks at lukeb@ollparish.com for more information.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Each Confirmation candidate is required to be present and participate in all Sunday sessions, and Alpha Youth Day (Tentative date is Nov. 7th).
There will be some work and preparation to be done at home between sessions.
Parents are required to attend Class 9 & 10 and Confirmation sponsors are encouraged to as well.
Classes will meet weekly beginning in October and continuing through mid-March, with the exception of winter break, spring break, and holiday weekends. Please see this link for the full schedule.

Confirmation is the third Sacrament of initiation for Catholics, following Baptism and First Communion. Often misunderstood as a kind of “Catholic graduation,” Confirmation marks the individual’s new phase into the faith, where they will receive more fully the Holy Spirit, and become a "warrior" for Jesus Christ and the Gospel. We strive to help our youth embrace and live out the doctrines of the Church, make an informed decision to remain Catholic, and commit to an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.
