First Sacraments

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

About First Sacraments

The First Sacraments Program at Our Lady of the Lake supports families in preparing their child (2nd grade and older) to celebrate their First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Three Sunday sessions are being offered this year: One from 8:00-8:30am, the  second from 10:15-11:00am, and the third from 12:15-1:00pm in the OLL School Building.  Both parents and children meet TOGETHER throughout the school year, from September through May.

The program also offers two family retreats and practice sessions for each sacrament. First Reconciliation is completed in November, and First Communion is celebrated in May.

Who can participate?

Families who wish to participate in the First Sacraments Program should be practicing Catholics (regularly attending Sunday Mass).  Children should be in 2nd grade or older and have received the Sacrament of Baptism.

An overview document is available here, providing more information about the program, including the attendance policy and calendar of events.
